There is a small theatre in Brixham putting on shows throughout the year, with more shows in Paignton Theatre and two venues in Torquay; Princess Theatre on the seafront and Babbacombe Theatre.
The nearest cinema is a multiplex on Paignton seafront and in Torquay town centre.
Despite Brixham’s modest size, there are a number of events through out the year including:
- Brixham Pirate Festival (May Day weekend)
- Brixham Heritage Festival (late May)
- The Trawler Race (June)
- Brixham Hap’nin, outdoor music festival (July)
- Fishstock, fish festival (September)
If you are looking for an active holiday, the coastline is a walkers paradise with sweeping views and picturesque coves. From the harbourside, you can join a sea fishing expedition with all equipment and bait supplied.
There is a swimming pool in Brixham and a nearby sports centre on the way to Paignton at Goodrington. Churston is the nearest golf club (2 miles away), though you can also try pitch and putt and go-karts, also at Churston within a short drive.
As Brixham is at the southern end of Tor Bay, water based activities are popular. You can enjoy a speedboat ride from Brixham marina, hire kayaks from Paignton or Torquay harbour, or take a scenic boat ride across the bay or around to Dartmouth on a ferry.
